A Chippendale giltwood mirror in the Chinese Taste, the rectangular plate is headed by a frieze plate contained by “C” scrolls. The elaborate cresting features a Chinaman holding a leafy umbrella beside a bricked ruin. The sides care contained by rustic fronds and the apron is centered by a temple. The original is in the Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Getty, San Francisco.
